Columbus is descended from the Nugget variety but with a few twists that are characteristic of modern hop breeding, not least of which is the hefty weight of aromatic oils. It is classed as a bittering variety but has potential to be more in certain beer styles due to the array of savoury, spicy aromas it produces.
Aroma notes: Black pepper, liquorice, curry, earthy, resinous, herbal, subtle citrus.
