One of a couple of experimental NZ hop breeds currently in large-scale trials, Hort 9909 doesn’t have a name yet. Hort 9909 has a very European pedigree, including Hallertau Mittelfruh and Saaz in its varied parentage. These give it a modern twist on old noble hop character. Brewing trials have focused on lagers and pilseners, as well as Pale Ales and XPAs, providing forward citrus characters of lemon and lime, sweet hay and spices in the background
