Lactic Acid
75% strength food grade lactic acid in a 100ml dropper bottle for ease of use in adjusting the pH of water used in brewing. Only a few drops are required to lower the pH of water used in home brew volumes and lactic acid is sometimes preferred to phosphoric acid as it doesn’t affect calcium levels in the wort. Desirable mash results are achieved when mash pH levels are between 5.2 and 5.6. Sparging results are also improved when sparge water is slightly acidic.
