Conventional pressure gauges contain a capillary tube that the gas enters driving a needle. The capillary tube is impossible to clean making them less sanitary. In addition to this crud can get into the capillary preventing the gauge from working and giving you a false low pressure that can be dangerous. Also, the capillary tubes are often made from soft metals such as brass and copper that are readily damaged when they come in contact with cleaning agents often found in the brewery. These diaphragm sanitary pressure gauges are made with a stainless-steel diaphragm separating the capillary tube and contents of the tank. This improves the reliability, longevity and sanitary design of the gauge and prevents the above issues caused by conventional gauges. If you have a stainless-steel fermenter that you want to check pressure you simply cannot beat the sanitary diaphragm design. In addition to this we supply these gauges filled with glycerin making them even more reliable and resistant to damage or incorrect readings.
